At NRC Radio, we’ve been providing expert radio communication solutions since 1989. We design custom communication systems and supply high-quality two way radios from trusted brands including Motorola, Kenwood, Hytera, Icom and DigiX.
Two way radios let you both send and receive messages, unlike regular radios that only receive. They allow people to talk instantly to each other when they’re on the same channel. Even though digital technology has replaced many older devices, two way radios remain very popular because they work so well, they can be used in many ways, and they rarely let you down. They’re used all over the world as essential communication tools.
We offer a wide range of services to our clients and can meet the needs of a large and varied client base. We are always happy to demonstrate our products before you decide to hire or buy to make sure that you have the best possible product to meet your needs.
We offer radio hire and radio systems across the UK which are available for short and long-term hire. This flexibility allows our clients to have the right systems at the right time.
We also provide DigiTrack vehicle tracking allowing you to confidently track all aspects of your business fom fleet management to vehicle and trailer tracking, all the way to asset and plant tracking.
People often use these terms to mean the same thing, but there are some key differences:
Walkie talkies are handheld devices that use low power and don’t need a license. They work up to about 3km range, depending on buildings and terrain, and they have basic features like push-to-talk buttons, volume control and channel selection. Regular consumer walkie talkies aren’t as good as professional ones.
A two way radio is a broader term for any radio that can send and receive. Professional two way radios are more powerful, can reach further, and they need a Business Radio License from Ofcom. They can also have extra features like Man-down alerts, lone worker protection, Selcall, more channels and vibration alerts. When a two way radio is mounted in a vehicle or sits on a desk (called a mobile radio), it’s not a walkie talkie because you can’t walk around with it. Think of it this way: every walkie talkie is a type of two way radio but two way radios come in many forms beyond just walkie talkies.
Talk Instantly: Our two way radios work with just one button press, giving you immediate communication even when wearing safety gear or working in tough conditions.
They Work When Other Systems Fail: Unlike cell phones that can stop working during emergencies, our radio communication systems keep working during power outages and major incidents.
They Keep Workers Safe: We provide devices with emergency buttons, lone worker protection and motion sensors that automatically call for help when needed.
Strongly Built: The 2 way radios we supply can handle heat, water, dust, drops and bumps, so they are perfect for harsh work environments and outdoor use.
Long-Lasting Batteries: Our devices have smart battery technology that can make sure that your 2 way radio works all day without needing to be recharged.
Keep Conversations Private: We offer encryption features that keep your voice and data transmissions secure without affecting sound quality.
Connect Your Whole Team: Our radio communication systems bring together teams across different floors and locations, connecting your radio system to phones, tablets, computers and alarm systems.
